High-Precision Topographic Mapping for Solar Farm Development
Aerial Survey & MappingOur client required a highly accurate topographic map of a 150-acre site to plan a new utility-scale solar farm. The challenge involved capturing detailed terrain data, including elevation changes and existing vegetation, to optimize panel placement and grading plans. We deployed a fixed-wing drone equipped with a high-resolution RGB camera and RTK-GPS for centimeter-level accuracy. The mission involved multiple automated flight patterns to ensure complete coverage. The collected imagery was processed using photogrammetry software to generate a detailed orthomosaic, digital surface model (DSM), and contour lines. The final deliverables enabled precise engineering design, reduced initial surveying costs by 40%, and provided a critical dataset for environmental impact assessments.
